Tessa is an Associate at Holland Beckett specialising in commercial litigation.
Tessa has experience advising clients across a broad range of disputes, including contract claims, professional negligence claims and insurance disputes. Tessa also has experience advising clients on defamation claims and other issues relating to damaging publications. In 2023, Tessa was ranked by Spear’s 500 as a “Rising Star” reputation and privacy lawyer.
Tessa grew up in Tauranga and returned with her family in 2024 after several years in the United Kingdom. Tessa holds a Masters in Law from the University of Cambridge and, prior to joining Holland Beckett, worked for a number of years in the London office of Quinn Emanuel, a leading global litigation firm, where she represented multinational clients across a broad range of disputes. Before moving to the UK, Tessa worked at a leading national litigation practice in Wellington.
Tessa has appeared as junior counsel in the Supreme Court, High Court and District Court. She is also committed to achieving practical solutions for clients and ensuring matters are resolved pragmatically out of court where possible.
