From our offices in Tauranga, Rotorua, Whakatāne and Taupō, our specialist teams work collaboratively to provide top level legal advice with local knowledge and understanding.
Holland Beckett was established in 1937 as WS Holland, and in 1949 William Sydney Holland was joined by Barney Beckett – the duo providing the well-known name of the firm. Over the 85 years since, there have been several moves and changes as the firm grew from strength to strength. In 1986 the firm merged with Maltby Hare and Willoughby, resulting in one of the largest law firms in the Bay at the time. In 2008 the growth necessitated the move to the current Tauranga building on Cameron Road, and from here Holland Beckett – or Hobec – continue to be a legal leader in the region. The firm has expanded with provincial offices, a full-service offering, and ever-growing partnership of exceptional lawyers.
With such a history in the Bay of Plenty, Holland Beckett assist local clients with ease, accessibility and understanding. Our team provide clients with an approach that is professional but focuses on relationships and delivers timely pragmatic, strategic and directed advice. But we are not just a local firm – Holland Beckett’s size and capacity, talented staff and ability to call on inhouse specialist legal teams have led to an exceptional national profile, with a number of national and international clients benefitting from world-class legal advice and expertise from the sunny BOP.
