Nicky has joined the Holland Beckett family law team as Special Counsel based in the Rotorua and Taupō offices.

She has over 25 years’ experience in dispute resolution over a broad range of areas. In more recent years the focus of her practice has been in relationship property law. Prior to joining Holland Beckett Nicky worked for a Wellington law firm representing clients locally and overseas.

Nicky assists clients entering into a new relationship with advice and recording of agreements to protect property from a relationship property claim, which often incorporates estate planning particularly where there are blended families. She also assists with property disputes following separation, which can often involve complex structures and related trust and company matters. Nicky advises clients on relationship property (Option A) claims and family protection claims against estates with a particular interest in intestacies.

She has an in-depth knowledge of the law and is a thorough and strong advocate for her clients. Her approach is to promote agreed resolutions but with a firm focus on ensuring the best outcomes for her clients.

Outside of work Nicky enjoys the outdoors, a good book and swimming in beautiful Lake Taupō. She has a passion for animals and loves helping out on weekends at the local Riding for Development.
