Stevie Shaw

Stevie is a senior solicitor at Holland Beckett specialising in employment law.

Stevie started out in a large corporate law firm in Auckland, working in the employment team. He moved down to Tauranga in early 2020, working at a smaller local firm, practising mainly employment law but also general civil litigation. He moved back up to Auckland in 2021, taking a role at a specialist employment boutique firm, before moving back down and joining Holland Beckett in 2023.

Stevie specialises in employment law, and does a range of contentious and non-contentious work. He has broad experience with employment issues, but has a particular interest in personal grievances and other employment-related disputes, disciplinary and performance management processes, workplace investigations, restructures, employee/contractor status issues and restraints of trade. He also enjoys working on issues which involve the intersection of employment law with other areas of law, such as contract, tort and equity. Stevie regularly appears in employment mediations, and has appeared in the Employment Relations Authority.

Stevie grew up over the Kaimais in Putāruru, and his family have owned a bach in Papamoa for most of his life, so he is very familiar with the region and is stoked to have made the Bay his home. When not working, he enjoys spending time with his partner Erin, playing tennis and playing the guitar.
