Sarah is a Senior Associate in Holland Beckett’s Environment & Planning team.
Sarah has more than 15 years’ experience advising public and private sector clients on resource management, local government, environmental and regulatory matters. Having practised in both private practice and in-house legal roles in New Zealand and overseas, she brings a commercial and pragmatic approach to resolving complex legal issues.
Prior to joining Holland Beckett, Sarah was a member of the Local Government, Litigation and Resource Management team at a large regional firm, where she acted primarily for local authority clients on a wide range of regulatory, compliance and enforcement matters.
Before returning to New Zealand, Sarah worked as in-house counsel for a leading global packaging, biomaterials and wood products company based in Stockholm, Sweden. Her role included advising on commercial contracts, procurement and construction projects, governance and compliance matters, dispute resolution, and legal risk management.
Sarah previously practised in the resource management team of a leading national law firm, where she advised on major infrastructure, transport and development projects. Her experience includes acting for clients in the water, airport, rail and electricity sectors, and assisting with significant planning and policy processes, including work relating to the Auckland Unitary Plan.
Sarah advises local authorities, infrastructure providers, developers, businesses and private landowners on resource consent applications, private plan changes, development projects, environmental compliance and strategic planning matters.
