Megan Exton

Megan is a solicitor at Holland Beckett Law specialising in environment, resource management, and local government law.

Megan joined Holland Beckett Law in 2018. She recently spent a year completing further study in terrestrial, freshwater, and marine ecology, during which she spent some time working as an academic scholar at Cawthron Institute’s aquaculture park in Nelson.

Megan regularly advises and represents clients in resource consent and planning processes, and has particular experience in geothermal and hydro electricity generation, agriculture, biodiversity, freshwater, and air quality matters. She also has a keen interest in climate change and biosecurity law.

Her experience in local government work includes providing advice around various public works projects, designations, rating, road stopping, reserve management, and infringement regimes.

  • Admitted to the Bar in New Zealand 2018
  • BSc (Zoology) 2021
