Michelle joined Holland Beckett in November 2020 as a summer clerk and returned to the Tauranga office in January 2022 as a part of the Family law team after completing her degree.

Having grown up in Rotorua, Michelle is proud of, and in the process of learning about, her whakapapa to Te Atiawa (Taranaki). Michelle began her Bachelor of Laws at Te Piringa Faculty of Law at the University of Waikato whilst working at the Rotorua Crown Solicitor’s office.

Deciding to pursue family law came about after volunteering at the Waiariki Women’s Refuge on the Crisis Line and meeting other family lawyers through this role. With a passion for family law, Michelle is particularly interested in protecting families from family violence, as well as Māori and women’s interests.

Michelle is looking forward to settling in and involving herself in the wider Bay of Plenty community and enjoying the beach lifestyle.
