Qualifications
- LLB (Hons), BA University of Auckland 2019
- Admitted to the Bar in New Zealand 2020
Sebastian is a litigator in Holland Beckett Law’s litigation and disputes resolution team, specialising in complex cases.
He has broad experience addressing challenging legal issues, including in relation to contentious trust and estate matters, personal properties and securities law, real property, companies, local government, judicial review, insolvency, construction disputes, and insurance.
He has appeared as lead counsel at the tribunal level, in the District and High Courts, and in the Court of Appeal. But Sebastian knows that each individual client’s needs are unique, and leverages his knowledge of law to his client’s benefit outside the courtroom.
He achieves favourable outcomes through both litigation and alternative dispute resolution for individuals, families, small and medium enterprises, and institutional and public sector entities.
Sebastian also has an active criminal practice at the trial and appellate levels, and appears for both defendants and as prosecutor. He is available to assist senior counsel, and regularly provides barristers with opinions on criminal law issues.
Before joining Holland Beckett, Sebastian was judge’s clerk at the Auckland High Court, supporting the Rules Committee’s ongoing generational reform of civil procedure. He continues to apply the unique insights that role provided in practice, and is still called on to contribute to law reform processes.
